PickToClick Points Explained

As you know, PickToClick points are based on the following formula:

2 PTC points for each rebound
2 PTC points for each assist
1 PTC points for each steal
1 PTC points for each block
-2 PTC points for each turnover
2 PTC points for each point scored

When you click on a "team" of players (although occasionally, you are only given one player as your option), you get all the PTC points that each of those players generate.

However, it is much easier to see these calculations to better understand this system. To clarify how this works, see the sample below, using the stats from the Ohio State game on March 8, 2025. I use the stats from ESPN's website, as those are available the minute the game ends, which allows me to input and post the results quicker. Below is a screenshot of the stats from ESPN from that game:

I then input those stats into an Excel spreadsheet so that it basically looks like this:

While Excel does the work for me, the graphic below shows how PointToClick points (referred to as PTC points from now on) are calculated for each stat, column by column for each player, if you were doing each calculation manually:

•For example, Anthony Leal had 8 rebounds (REB). Since each rebound is worth 2 PTC points, he generates 16 PTC points for those 8 rebounds.
•Next, he had 1 assist (AS), which is also worth 2 PTC points each, so he generates 2 PTC points for that 1 assist.
•He had 1 steal (STL), which is worth 1 PTC point each, so he generates 1 PTC point for that steal.
•He had 2 blocks (BL), which are worth 1 PTC point each, so he generates 2 PTC points for those 2 blocks.
•He also had 1 turnover (TO), which is worth -2 PTC points each, so he generates -2 PTC points for that turnover.
•Finally, he had 4 points (PTS), which are worth 2 PTC points each, so he generates 8 PTC points for those points.
When you add all of these points up, Leal has generated 27 PTC points for all of these statistics:

16 + 2 + 1 + 2 - 2 + 8 = 27

Leal was teamed up with Luke Goode (40 PTC points) and Myles Rice (10 PTC points), so their team total was 77 PTC points. Had you picked this team, you would have received 77 PTC points. That tied with another team (Oumar Ballo and Trey Galloway), whom also had 77 PTC points, and was higher than the third team offered for this game (Malik Reneau, Mackenzie Mgbako, Kanaan Carlyle and Langdon Hatton), whom had 62 PTC points. If you missed making your pick for this game, you are given the lowest total PTC points generated for this game, which was 62 points.
